Hello and thanks for stopping by.. As a young child I entered a contest with my girl-scout troop to construct a unique Easter bonnet.. a bird cage a few fake flowers + bows and wallah.. first prize ribbon ! And so it goes,... the creating ... always creating ever since. And as so many artist will say, it has never been about the money or the recognition (although 1st prize was sweet) . . . but always about the process. Whether it be creating something from wood, fabrics, folk art painting, sculpting in clay or balloon artistry,
it's always about the process - of sharing, learning, teaching, that inspires me to continue on and on. So many things to make so little time.
My background is in Theater Arts; having Directed plays, designed lighting and constructed costumes and sets from California to Germany with a detour into the wondrous world of balloon artistry which found me with 2 shops in Europe for several years providing balloon sculptures for functions and gifting for our own US troops.
I'm a single christian woman, that is ever thankful for the bountiful blessings in my life ... One awesome grown son and my two beautiful grand-boxers, the love and support of a very special church congregation, generous creative friends and the never ending support and love of a tribe of siblings here and past. And the wonder of a beautiful 89 yr young Mother ( my grandest creative supporter) that tirelessly shared with me her own creative spirit in the way of her stitchery teaching me to sew and design patterns at a young age when others where simply making pillow cases in home ed classes I was making a three piece herringbone suit.. at 14 yrs old. Thank you Mom!
I've found a new home for my art in the fantastic Village of the Arts, in beautiful downtown Bradenton, Fl. Soon to realize my dream of living my creative life full time I look forward to the grand opening of my very own Gallery/Studio and really hope you'll steal a moment to stop and visit and perhaps even spend a day on yourself with me and oh won't you """ Come Clay with Me " in my one day workshops. Additionally I'll be offering a variety of classes from floor cloth + folk art painting in acrylics and more! For now, I'll carry on with this creative process; doing what brings me joy on high.
A dear friend once asked me; "Jacq., do you create when you are happy or are you happy when you are creating?" And you know... that's it exactly... all of the above!
So bye for now but one day soon meet me in the back garden my friends, I'll keep the clay conditioned and the kiln warm for you.
Peace and blessings galore, Jacque
